Civil Engineer

Harms Engineering has an opening for a full-time civil engineer. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, be licensed as a professional engineer in Washington State (or eligible for reciprocity), and have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.  The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, design, and management of projects in one or more of the following areas:

  • Civil site development including: grading, storm drainage, roads, utility layout and design, and applicable regulations and permitting
  • Water system planning and design
  • Municipal Engineering
  • Structural analysis and design (wood-frame, reinforced concrete, steel)
  • Forensic engineering and failure analysis

The applicants' resume should clearly demonstrate specific experience and level of responsibility in one or more of the areas listed above, include a list of and experience level with computer programs, and provide at least two professional references with contact information.

Successful applicant should demonstrate the ability to be self-directed; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; ability to meet budgets and schedules; and willingness to learn and teach.
